RONA GLYNN-MCDONALD

RONA. is a Kaytetye producer and DJ whose sound is rooted in the desert landscapes of her home, Mparntwe, central Australia. Blending desert rhythms with club culture, she crafts immersive sonic experiences shaped by her life across many worlds. She has built a catalogue that channels deep storylines and ancestral legacy, exploring rhythm, sovereignty, and oral storytelling in evolving ways.

A sonic and visual storyteller, RONA. layers synths with the textures of Country, creating journeys that move dance floors and resonate with the soul. Performing alongside artists like Four Tet and Overmono, she has appeared at Laneway, Pitch Music & Arts, Strawberry Fields, Splendour in the Grass, and made her Boiler Room debut at Sugar Mountain in January 2024 - interweaving original music with nods to historical movements and resistance. RONA. creates music that centers connections to Country, self, and place across generations.

Through her work with First Nations communities across Australia, Rona aims to create future systems that centre First Nations people, knowledge and cultures. She was the founding CEO of Common Ground, and is now a Board Director of Common Ground and Director of First Nations Futures.
